Sky or Freesat Satellite Dish Problems with the Snow
Snow Problems with Dishes
This is a problem you
might get with your sky or freesat dish in the winter.
We had some snow the other
day and it had a bit of wind behind it.
So what you might say, well, the phone
went red hot with customers phoning
in saying that they had lost their satellite pictures.
Well, what we found was that if the snow
collects on the satellite dish in a certain way,
which is along the arm and in front
of the LNB the signal drops.

So if you can get at the dish, gently
brush the snow off it. Don't be harsh
as you might knock the dish out
of alignment. You should find
normal reception is resumed
when the snow has gone.
